Dear colleagues,
We have done our best to keep Junior EUROMAT 2020 as a safe face to face event. On shifting the event until mid-November, we all hoped that the health alarm situation would be handable. However, latest news on COVID are alarming and most European countries have imposed severe travel restrictions. It is with great regret that the decision to cancel this edition of Junior EUROMAT has been taken.
Soon, the call for papers for EUROMAT 2021 will be open, and hopefully, we can safely meet in Graz, and enjoy a wonderful Conference that makes up for bad days gone by.
The first issue of the FEMS online journal will be issued in 2021. If you wish your abstract to be considered, please register your interest to secretary@fems.org to receive more information.
Stay at home, wear the mask, take care of you and your families, see you in Graz!

If there is a city that truly evokes the essence of Spain, that city is Granada. A cross-roads of civilizations since time immemorial and in an unparalleled location, Granada is a vibrant, friendly and lively metropolis that is full of culture. The Alhambra, the flagship of the city’s vast historical heritage, stands on a hilltop overlooking a city that attracts around three million visitors every year.
Granada, capital of the province of the same name, is in south-eastern Spain, in the autonomous region of Andalusia. Traditionally, it was the capital of High Andalusia, or eastern Andalusia, which comprised the provinces of Jaén, Granada and Almería, as opposed to Lower Andalusia or western Andalusia. In addition to being the traditional capital, Granada is the judicial capital of Andalusia, as the home of the High Court of Justice of the autonomous region.
The Alhambra was so called because of its reddish walls (in Arabic, («qa’lat al-Hamra’» means Red Castle). It is located on top of the hill al-Sabika.
One of the wonders of the world, you have to visit it!

The gastronomy of Granada represents the tradition of Arabo-Andalusian cuisine. On one hand the Arab heritage is evident in the use of spices and, secondly, the wide variety of raw materials, determined by the great differences of geography and climate in different regions of Granada.
One of the regional dishes of Granada are beans with ham, a pot of San Anton, the Sacromonte omelette, Andalusian gazpacho with garlic and the grilled sardines on the beaches of the Tropical Cost.
Granada is the capital of tapas. In most places, a free tapa is served with each drink. Get ready for some tasty bites.
A typical dish of Granada: Crumbs (Migas).
The most typical and delicious desert are “Piononos”. From any part of Andalusia they move there to taste it.
